I’ll offer these without too much commentary, other than to say: I’ve been reflecting a lot on what my classroom space communicates to students regarding a sense of belonging and a sense of inclusivity. Thanks to a recent NCWIT presentation, I’ve been focusing on how my classroom & other materials might be tapping into the interests, confidence, sense of belonging, or identify of the students walking into my classroom. It’s made me think about the items I want my students to see as soon as they enter my room vs the items they see when they’re immersed in class vs the items they see when they’re leaving my room. Lots to think about. Anyway, here’s what my room looks like this year:
